Leg Godt?

Trivia: By number, what is the world’s No. 1 tyre manufacturer?

If you answered LEGO, you’re right on. Every year, LEGO’s manufacturing plant in Denmark produces 306 million tiny rubber tyres that decorated children all over the world, be it present or past.

Besides computers, LEGO played a substantial part in my childhood. I would beg my mother for a set every now and then, though often denied as LEGO sets are usually very expensive. I also got a (back then, quite out of my reach) LEGO aquanauts (I think) set as a gift for submitting a story in the monthly kids’ magazine, Kuntum. I think it’s in August 1996 edition.

Without further ado, the full story is here, and the purty pictures slidshow is here, in case you just want to browse through the pretties.

true naz , i was expecting if he could show us scanned version of his past work. I’d love to see that.

During my childhood times, Lego set is way too expensive and we (our family) barely can afford them. So i always took my chance by playing with my neighbour who was lucky enough to have few sets.

But finally i ended up with cheap ‘pasar-malam’ Lego. Multicolored bricks. RM 5 per set :(

Heyyy! 10 years ago pun… I still have some of my essays masa Darjah 2 and 3 tau! I too had quite a few lego sets masa kecik2 of which I shared with my bro. I wanted to go to Denmark dulu so boleh pergi Legoland but hajat tak tercapai lah. Haha.

But I think Legos are really good for kids (as long as they don’t insert them in their mouths). It gives them a platform to be creative. Buat pistol lah kapal terbang lah. Ahh childhood memories… they linger on forever.

i still remember my lego sets. at first they came out so biggg kan? like big bricks in bright colours and those teeny weeny people with yellow heads and blue bodies. the only things that i could make up with those were just houses/buildings. and now the sets are so refined you can make practically everything. kids nowadays are so lucky.
