How Much Should One Spend on an Engagement Ring?
I’m currently having this writer’s block. I wanted to jot down something here, but couldn’t find something to write.
A friend called me up earlier today while i’m at work, for my opinion on the amount of money I should spend on an engagement ring.
Never actually thought of that before, I pulled a three-digit figure starting with 5 out of my ass, hoping that it would be somewhere around that range.
Later that night, he told me that he spent around 1,000 for the ring.
So, what do you guys think?

Well why not? Depends on how much you can afford. If the cost of a ring can deplete your bank account, then go for less. Janji ikhlas. Heh.
After all, you do intend to spend the rest of your life with that someone… jangan lah yang cikai2 sangat plak. Standard la sket beb!

I prefer spending more on the wedding ring itself. Not to say that i’m being berkira, but I believe that most of us spend more on the customs, preparations and feast but neglect preparation on the life together.
I’d rather have a frugal wedding feast but with my own house to live in together, rather than a lavish one but have to merempat at our parents’s.

Yea, normally people would spend more on wedding rings. But all I’m saying is, if you have the means to spend slightly more on the engagement ring, why not kan?

Silalah buka minda. Just like houses, some people can afford to buy bigger ones… bergantung kepada kemampuan lah. No such thing as siapa rumah lagi besar or not kan?

usually people who spent money on engagement ring, they wont buy another ring for wedding, they will opt for another thing, such as necklace.
